Hamza Mohsin

Writer/Director and Actor

Having written and performed from a young age Hamza has a vast array of experience, from playing soul searching hitmen (Pulp Fiction Live – Camden Underworld) and Shakespearean princes (Much Ado About Nothing – Alter Ego Theatre company) to writing, and directing short plays and films (see below). Hamza was also co-founder of Laugh Or Die (www.laughordie.org.uk) an Impro comedy troupe who performed around the world and hold the accolade of being the first English speaking Impro troupe to perform with Theatribu the main Impro troupe in Milan (http://www.teatribu.it/).

His commitment to creating original independent films has become a focus in the last few years having produced 2 short films as a writer/director  along with several unproduced scripts.

Projects currently in development:

Thornton Heath Boys (film) – Currently in pre-production with a BBC Creative attached as director. Follow two friends on the meaner streets of South London on a regular day as they deliver drugs, discuss life and make choices that could change their lives forever.

Waffle Waitress – A comedy sketch website dedicated to emerging comedy talent and building a collective pool of writers and performers.

The Big Winner (film) – Rob gets all that he dreams of when in a twist of fate, he becomes the luckiest man alive for one day but as the day comes to a close, there is a price to pay. Be careful what you wish for.

The Night Club Singer (play) – A stylized Theatre Noir. The emergence of a mysterious nightclub singer threatens to tear apart the frayed fabric of a truce between 2 rival mobster families in 60s Soho.
